Pamela D. C. Junior is a servant leader, historian, motivational speaker, museum consultant, women’s activist, and Director Emerita of the Two Mississippi Museums.
Throughout her distinguished career, she has dedicated herself to preserving and sharing Mississippi’s stories, serving as the inaugural director of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum before leading both the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and Mississippi History Museum. Today, she serves as Director of Human and Cultural Services for the City of Jackson. A nationally recognized leader in public history and cultural preservation, Pamela has received numerous honors for her work, including the Mississippi Humanities Council’s prestigious Cora Norman Award for lifetime achievement in the humanities. She believes that history has the power to inspire hope, connect communities, and help us imagine a better future.
