Dr. Angela G. Cooley is the wife of Joey D. Cooley and the mother of Jahviah D. and Jatela M. Cooley. She is also a proud grandmother to Laila Simone Cooley. Dr. Cooley holds a Doctor of Professional Studies degree with a concentration in Educational Administration and Supervision from Delta State University. With over three decades of experience, she is a seasoned educator and instructional leader dedicated to advancing academic excellence and student achievement in Mississippi’s public school system.
Currently, Dr. Cooley serves as an administrator overseeing the Work-Based Learning Program, STEM initiatives, and the Health Science Education Career Path of Learning Program. She is committed to fostering a culture of equity, collaboration, and continuous growth.
A respected voice in education, Dr. Cooley has been recognized for her instructional excellence, professional integrity, and deep commitment to student success. Her leadership experience spans both the Grenada and Greenwood Public School Districts, where she has held various impactful roles, including classroom teacher (during which she was named Grenada Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year), instructional specialist, and assistant principal at both elementary and middle school levels.
Dr. Cooley’s career is defined by her commitment to creating student-centered environments, mentoring educators, and promoting data-driven instruction. Additionally, her influence extends beyond traditional classroom settings. Driven by her belief in the transformative power of education, she has been invited to speak at statewide conferences, including the Mississippi Association of School Board Members and the Mississippi Association of Educators Student Conference. Dr. Cooley has also mentored future educators through the University of Mississippi’s World Class Teaching Program and has served as a supervising teacher for student teachers from Ole Miss and Delta State University.
